RACHNA

RACHNA has launched a conservation based rural tourism program in three selected sites in the headwaters of the Ganges and Yamuna Rivers. RACHNA is promoting environment-friendly accommodations such as tents, and community-managed small guest houses in the villages. These facilities along with the offerings of organic food, trekking, bird watching, conservation education, yoga camps and participation in plantation activities will generate employment opportunities for village youth, entrepreneurs, farmers and women groups. The rural tourism program will be consolidated into a community based enterprise called Home in the Himalayas (HITH).
