Workshop on "sustainable tourism, ecosystem conservation and climate change mitigation/adaptation in the headwaters of the Ganges River" on 26th and 27th September 2009 at Bhatwari area of Uttarkashi district.

Lunching of a three year training program for developing sustainable rural tourism in the Pauri-Kandusain- Khirsu area in association with IDS Pauri and NABARD on August 15th 09.

Plantation of around 7000+ native fodder, fruit and fuel wood trees in the headwaters of the Ganges River (August 10- 25, 2009) in association with Mahila Mangal Dals (women groups), Village Panchayats and Village Tourism Management Committees (VTMCs) in Raithal, Barsu, Kyark, Bandrani, Pala and Bhatwari villages in Uttarkashi district.

Mapping of community assets, networks, associations and entitlements by the community volunteers and youth especially trained by RACHNA for building the community based rural tourism program in the Uttarkashi area.
