Engaging Visitors in Conservation
RACHNA considers the visitors/tourists coming to the Garhwal region as key allies for conservation actions. RACHNA’s community based tourism and conservation work plan process will help mobilize the concerns and reverence among visitors, for the Himalayas, into pragmatic and tangible action for serving this important ecosystem.
RACHNA offers creative opportunities to visitor groups to contribute in conservation of the Himalayas. This includes activities such as planting trees, assistance in developing organic farms, building green buildings/lodges, supporting environment friendly products in design etc., and providing support in environmental education and policy advocacy for effective conservation.
